There’s a song that says when you’re smiling, the whole world smiles with you. So without a doubt, this rescue dog called Shortcake would turn any frown upside down through the cuteness that she brings with her smile!
She was saved by the Fresno Bully Rescue, the social media star that has garnered more than 190,000 fans on Instagram and is widely followed by close to half a million people on TikTok because of her extensive smile.
Also in addition to her aesthetically pleasing social media feed, her bio wittily states that she is the. First of Her Name, then the Queen of Belly Rubs, Breaker of Gas, Mother of Naps, and Eater of Poo. Currently, she is living her high-status life in Southern California.
And Amy Matsushima, Shortcake’s owner, and best friend are likewise used to the spotlight, as she has been interviewed many times by different outlets because of her friendly pup. In an interview with the Daily Mail, Matsushima said that her dog came to the Fresno.
The Fresno Bully Rescue with a history of severe mange and hernia. During that time, the facility did not have space to accommodate the newcomer. But there was something about Shortcake’s photo that made it hard for them to decline her. So, they willingly pulled her into their shelter.
Also for Good Morning America, Matsushima also said that Shortcake appeared miserable when she first met her. However, her wagging tail and infectious smile spoke to her, which ultimately led her to decide she had to meet her in person.
And all the rest, they say, is history. Since then, Shortcake had a constant smile on her little face, despite everything she’s been through.
While it remains a mystery why Shortcake smiles a lot. Matsushima said that she couldn’t make her do it on cue.
